CSC Computerized Examination on hold

August 9, 2016

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) informs the public that the CSC Computerized Examination (CSC COMEX) for Career Service Examination for Professional and SubProfessional levels is still on hold. Interested individuals are advised to apply instead for the paper-and-pen exam on October 23, 2016. Application period for the October 23 test, the last for 2016 is still ongoing until September 1. Acceptance of applications is on a first-come, first-served basis and shall be closed any time before the deadline if the CSC Regional/Field Office has already reached the target number of applicants

No online offering and reservation of examination slots are currently offered to the public. Hence, there are no available examination schedules posted in the CSC COMEX website (www.comex.csc.gov.ph/user) for the meantime.

CSC however accommodates requests from government agencies for the conduct of COMEX for their employees who need to obtain eligibility and to be considered for regular employment and/or promotion. The CSC conducts the special COMEX on Tuesdays at the Central Office, and on Thursdays at the Regional Offices.

Applications for the October 23 CSC Career Service Exam is Now Open

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced that it has started accepting applications for the October 23 schedule of Career Service Examination (Paper-and-Pencil Test), Professional and Sub-Professional levels.

The CSE is open to Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application. While applicants may continuously take the examinations regardless of the number of times failed, the CSC stressed that the same level of examination should be taken once in every three months.

Applications must be filed personally at the CSC Regional Office (CSCRO), or at any of the CSCRO’s Field Offices, where applicants intend to take the examination. The CSC reminds that while the application period ends on September 1, acceptance of application is on a first-come, first-served basis, hence it may close earlier than the deadline if the CSCRO or FO has already reached the target number of applicants.

For the qualifications and complete list of application requirements, interested applicants may access CSC Examination Announcement No. 07, s. 2015 posted at the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph. Examination fee is PhP500.

CSC extends deadline for career service exam applications until February 26, 2016

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) extends the deadline of the filing of applications for the April 17 Career Service Examination, Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) up to February 26, 2016.

CSC said that the filing period, which initially was set until February 25 only, is extended in light of the declaration of February 25, 2016 as a Special Non-Working Holiday throughout the country in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

The Career Service Examination is open to Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application. While applicants may continuously take the examinations regardless of the number of times failed, the CSC stressed that the same level of examination should be taken once in every three months. With this condition, applicants for the April 17, 2016 examinations must not have taken the same level of the examination since Jan. 17, 2016.

Applications must be filed personally at the CSC Regional Office (CSCRO), or at any of the CSCRO’s Field Offices, where applicants intend to take the examination. The CSC reminds that acceptance of application is on a first-come, first-served basis, adding that it may be closed earlier than February 26 once the allotted number of examinees had been reached.

Career Service Examination, Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT)

The next schedule of CSE, Paper and Pencil Test will be on:

April 17, 2016 (Sunday) and

October 23, 2016 (Sunday)

The CSE-PPT for Professional and SubProfessional levels are open to Filipino citizens, regardless of educational attainment, who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination in less than three months. For the CSE-PPT scheduled on April 17, 2016, applicants must not take the same level of the examination from January 17, 2016, to April 16, 2016.

The application period for the April 17, 2016, CSE-PPT started on November 9, 2015, and ends on February 25 the next year. Application must be filed personally at the CSC Regional Office (CSCRO) or at any CSC Field Office where the applicant intends to take the test. For application requirements and other information regarding the CSE-PPT, applicants should refer to CSC Examination Announcement No. 07, s. 2015 now posted in the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph. Examination fee for CSE-PPT is PhP500.

The career service exams would result in the conferment of either Professional or SubProfessional eligibility appropriate for appointment to corresponding permanent positions in the government.

October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT Reset to December 6, 2015

A D V I S O R Y

TO: Examinees of the Suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT and Other Affected Examinees

SUBJECT: Reset of the October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT Due to Super Typhoon Lando to December 6, 2015

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the resetting of the October 18, 2015 Career Service Examination, Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) on December 6, 2015. Said resetting is in view of the suspension of the October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT implemented in select regions due to the onslaught of Super Typhoon Lando.

Please be advised of the following guidelines/procedures which shall govern the December 6, 2015 examination:

  1. For examinees of Regions 1, 2, NCR and CAR where full suspension at the regional level was implemented, including examinees of Cabanatuan City, Olongapo City and Bongao, Tawi-tawi:
  2. 1.1 Affected examinees shall have the same testing center and school assignment as in the suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT. No request for transfer of testing center shall be allowed.

    1.2 Affected examinees shall no longer be required to register again. The general admission rules shall apply on examination day (December 6, 2015), whereby examinees shall be required to present the following items:

  1. I.D. card (the same I.D. card presented during filing of application for the suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT, or any of the other accepted I.D. cards for Career Service Examination which must be valid i.e. not expired)
  2. Note: “No I.D., No Exam”

  3. Original NSO Birth Certificate (if I.D. card has no date of birth)
  4. Application Receipt with corresponding CSC Official Receipt (if available)
  5. Notice of School Assignment generated thru the Online Notice of School Assignment (as applicable).
  1. For examinees of Regions 4 and 5, including Region 3 for its City of San Fernando, Pampanga and Malolos City testing centers only, where no suspension was implemented, examinees who were not able to take the October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT shall be considered as affected examinees and, therefore, shall be allowed to take the December 6, 2015 examination.
  2. 2.1 Affected examinees shall be required to register with the CSCRO or the CSCFO nearest them. Registration period shall be from October 26, 2015 to November 6, 2015 only. Examinees concerned shall appear in person before the CSCRO/FO and present the following items:

    Original of the I.D. card presented during filing of application for the suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT, or any of the other accepted I.D. cards for Career Service Examination which must be valid (not expired)

    Original Application Receipt and/or original CSC Official Receipt for the suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT (if available)

    2.2 Affected examinees’ school assignment may not necessarily be the same as in the suspended October 18, 2015 CSE-PPT. For this matter, examinees could make use of the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) which shall be available by November 27, 2015 and thereafter, or may coordinate directly with the CSCRO concerned.

  1. All affected examinees shall only be given one chance to take the rescheduled examination free of charge. Those who would not be able to take the December 6, 2015 examination shall have their examination fee and slot forfeited. Any request for postponement/another rescheduling shall not be allowed. For this matter, they shall file a new application for the next schedule of CSE-PPT and pay the corresponding examination fee.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) advises concerned individuals on the postponement of the October 18, 2015 Career Service Examination-Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) in all testing centers in:

Region 1
Region 2
Cordillera Administrative Region
National Capital Region
Tawi-Tawi

The cancellation was done in light of potential hazards that may be caused by Typhoon Lando. Affected examinees are advised to standby for further announcements regarding the rescheduling of the exam.
